Road to a music doc PDF Print E-mail
    Saturday, 28 April 2012 15:51

Haven't written a blog in ooh, about 2 years and I figure pulling together a music documentary is as good a reason as any. After working on the Backstage Pass and Spotlight On webisodes over the past year for the Wachu Concert Series, I'm ramping it up with a music doc about the Canada-UK music landscape. There are many wicked good sub-plots being explored but a key part of production will be David Ward Music's first UK tour in July.

IMG_0631It's been a fast and furious couple of months as I've been helping to book gigs while buying lenses, watching endless music docs and figuring out how much fuel and how long it will take to drive up and down a country fit to be tied with Olympic fever.

We'll be stopping in at all kinds of venues including bars, restaurants, and the last surviving record shop in Teesside, Sound it Out Records, which is also the subject of a great documentary by Jeanie Finlay.

We'll be blogging as we go and there'll be special on-the-road sessions from locations that may include Brighton pier, an extinct volcano in Edinburgh and anywhere else we can steal 3 minutes of musical magic without been blown away by gale force winds, or interrupted by the authorities.

    Crazy? Maybe.

    See you soon.
